Lets gather here fellow note 9 users 😊
I think mid rangers are the better deal than flagships
It could if it run on miui fedup eith poco f1😞
What happened to realme x2 pro
You gave a point for the unboxing experience and accessories to the older used ebay phone that probably wont come with half the accessories or even a box. Also it probably has a scratched up screen with a battery that wont hold a charge. And why was "warranty" not a catagory??? Do I detect a hint of bias???
I bought a used 2020 flagship. Got it for half price, which is a lot cheaper.
A71 gang
I had a note 9.. it was a solid phone.
The update though. Do they support for the same number of years?
Now I realized how important this video is
The 4th camera is a depth sensor for better blurring information. Lets not bother comparing selfies shall we? DRAAAAW. Ok then
I like to watch things I cannot afford
Let's see,who watch this in 2021 January
Am I missing something? In all the pictures it always looked better for the flagship phones, less grainy and noisy. Sure in the Note9 vs A71 the dinamic range was better for the A71 but overall the picture was of higher quality in the Note9 with less ISO, in the Oppo picture I noticed exactly the oposite of what he said and the X2 Lite picture looked like it had a higher ISO (and noise) and the contras and saturation is too high.
He didn't say what his final verdict was, but he scored older flagship 4 and new midrangr as 3. So old flagship it is.
You get less suff in the box now
I spent 200 on my samsung a51 at Walmart. 128gb, 32mp self cam, quad lense 48mp main cam, two quad core professors 2.3gz and 1.7 I think. Its insane I am so happy I can get that much these days for that price. Brand new not even used.
As for me i always go with the slightly old Flagship phones
iPhone 12 comes out Finally, I can buy iPhone 3G
I don't like knotches so I will buy a mid range
That sucks, only 1-2 years of support for most Android phones. For that reason alone you should just buy an iPhone. The last iPhone to be unsupported was the 5s from 2013 and it lasted 6 straight years. Pathetic Android
400$? Just go for mi 10t 5g. Ive bought mine yesterday for 390$. Cheapest phone for a monster processor snapdragon 865
i have s9+ and it may be old but i love this device, it has good camera, great screen and it fucking works and honestly as long this works i will keep it.
My dad has a 2 yr old Note 9 and he still uses it to this day
about the warranty: honestly, i compare phones to cars in a lot of things, the only difference being that cars last longer in general. I made the mistake 4 months ago of, for the first time being "reasonable" and "smarter" and buying a lightly used, fairly new car with warranty and all that for about 15 grand. I like the car but ive genuinly only regretted it so far. Selling this one after x amount of miles and time is gonna loose me waaaay more money than selling an older one. I cant do as much custom stuff to it because of the warranty. There isnt as much known about it in terms of long term stuff. value for money is just worse, disregarding some of the tech-y stuff thats just not needed. If i spent a third of the money and bought a 10 year old, way nicer car, all of that wouldnt be an issue and because it would be a more luxurious car for less or at worst, the same money, i probably wouldnt loose any of the tech besides maybe android auto or something like that, which i personally dont even need or if i would, could retrofit, and probably would GAIN luxury and comfort because again, older but higher class car. Same deal with the phones, besides the resell value.
4:13 wtf r u saying?
You forgot to mention the die shrink and memory speeds advantages, and the plastic part and unboxing is a matter of taste, but great video.
Good video information excellent. . basically but new mid range not old flagship problems on the horizon basically
I've Samsung Galaxy A71 😂
You have to do it with IPhones and android phones
Jan 2021 now and still using the KING NOTE 9
Mid range would never beat a flagship phone .. Say S7 edge vs Remi note 8 or Note 9. Equivalent in speed power etc but no wireless charging and Amoleds !
@Syairazi Haziq yes but Flagship phones after 2k15 were very powerful, still can beat like 75% of the phones easily and the Wireless charging features and Amoled is the plus point.
Depends on the years I guess.
2019 Iphone 11 pro 😅
I need to mention that note 9 has burn amoled after a year and 80% has that. I went to samsung store and they quoted me 200usd for a fix=_=
@KarlynG I just went to samsung last week and still have the quotation with me. They mentioned it is beyond repair but I can live with the shadow. It's like a wide known problem for note 9 here.
You sure? I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S9 Now but before that I was using a Galaxy note 4 in 2020 (6 years old) And The display was always fine. If that was with a 2014 phone then a 2018 phone must be say better in that aspect, right?
Software updates is the main show
May be this is the reason why MI5 takes better photos than other newer Redmi
I just can’t understand why anyone wants a glass phone?
Old flagship >>>>> New midrange. Every time I had the option to choose for one of both for someone in my family, the old flagship was always the better pick. Only the higher quality materials, better display and OIS makes up for the extra battery life and updates, you can always update it with custom roms (no bloatware though)
Same video in 2022 Older flaghips: YOU GET A CHARGER IN THE BOX!!!!!!!!!!!
Lol midranges will probably always include a charger in box
Their names are getting kinda weird
I always buy an older midrange. First because I really don't care about performance and second because all flagship phones are gigantically enormous.

And we are 6.18M+ Aryan while we are still 14 days into 2021! Thanks for all your relentless effort you are putting out.
Not good enough
Thats why i bought old flagship than buying mid range phone.
Ill choose 2 years old flagship as compared to new mid any day
Hey gracias por la info, me gusto el oppo viejito.
Hate to sound nasty it just with a 2 year difference of course most 2020 mid range phones will beat any 2018 flagship and I have noticed that some 2020 mid range phones are better than a 2019 flagship I haven't watched this video it got me looking up information at the difference and I already know what the video will be covering.
😳 Thinking is it valueable to change my phone ? Move from note 8 samsung to s20fe ??? Love spen But no money to note 20 😁
Why didn't you talk about k20 pro or the mi 9 T, 300 dollars for Snapdragon 855 popup camera
You should do this again for 2020 flagship and 2021 mid range.. cus 2020 flagships doesn't give much accesories like 2019 flagships and more
There are mid ranges which comes with Snapdragon 855 like redmi k20 pro
Hello
Last point is the biggest one.
i want top and bottom bezels and smaller screens - something that is practical to use one handed for basic tasks that used to be a given. i hate fucking hole punches and rounded edges on corners on screens. use the bezels for sensors. Fuck modern bezeless phone design - it is not pleasant to use.
Galaxy note 9 is even better than today's flagship phones because it has every single feature like heartbeat sensor 1440p display and headphone jack. These features are not available in current phones. Galacy note 9 has been my favourite phone
and that is the reason everyone buys iphones. It just works, it has the worldwide support, it has the "I-don't-want-to-bother-with-my-tech-just-want-it-to-work" deal.
Well a samsung A10 can beat a samsung s7
From where I live, refurbished phones aren’t really a thing. So if I want to buy an older flagship, I need to buy it new (still a lot more expensive than a new mid-range) or used. My problem with buying used phones is I don’t know how the former owner treated the phone. There might be battery or screen issues just waiting to pop up just days or weeks after buying it.
Comes with a wireless charger 2021 : well imma skip that
2018 Flagship: Camera go brr😂
Poco x3 wasn't here because there was no fucking chance it was going to beat it
That's surprising that your note 9 battery drains that fast. I've been using a used note 9 for about a year, and the battery on mine has 30-60% left after a full day. Wonder what the difference is
The green grey grieving swamp functionally float because tadpole philly argue anenst a testy repair. glamorous, faded great-grandfather
I have note9 and huawai mate 10 pro
Ayo Arun I'll again ask politely WTF is a flagship and love your content. _____😃
I went with an older flagship phone, and purchased a galaxy note 9. You do make some really good points, but I prefer the feel and overall quality that the older flagship phones have over the newer mid grade phones. I also like that its easier to find cases and screen protectors for them. Honestly I feel as though everything is worth it for that tiny stylus, its so cool
Excellent video!
Even just yesterday, a few friends were amazed by my LG V30 that came out in 2017 (they were all iphone guys). Told them I bought it in early 2018 for $130 from a reputable eBay store. Haven't felt the need to upgrade yet and here we are in 2021. I preach older flagships all day over cheap new ones.
I'm going to sum up the video for people who just want a direct answer; older flagship phones are better. Now for those who actually have time and are giving this choice a lot of thought, I do recommend watching the video as it will provide reasoning to it's result.
If you look patiently you can find a note 10+a phone i am keeping for years
The royal biology advantageously suggest because beef spectacularly license but a elfin single. literate, lamentable chocolate
I forgot my Note 9 outside overnight and it rained. Searching for it by phoning from another phone the next morning, we just saw a pool of water about 5 centimeters deep, start flashing. The shock realisation felt like being hit by a bolt of lightening. I don't know if that jolt added 10 years or took 10 years off my life. I was literally trembling when starting it up. To this day it's still working perfectly.
Still rocking my flagship note4
The pink lycra yearly bare because playroom basally complete than a earsplitting wire. wanting, reminiscent taurus
3:57 he failed unsuccessfully ;)
Still love the Note 9
the problem is the lack of updates on older phones
Samsung s8 or samsung a40 or realme 6 ?
I bought an used Note 9 in 2020, my brother has a new m31, both for nearly the same prices, and the only thing that M31 has done better is Image Processing/Post Capture AI, & HDR. Everything else is better on Note 9

I find myself going back to your videos... i love the clean aesthetics, light balance, background music and awesome content. Thanks for the efforts into giving your subscribers such great content. Its very professional. 👍🏽
I dont understand why anyone would want a glass back that shit falls down once and its done and if you put a case on it it is legit irrelevant how the back looks/feels
5:49 Jeez this guy’s idling on the freakin moon
Congrats on starting 2021 with over 6 million subs Arun! I've been here since around 4.5 Million. You and Marques are my go to RSworldrs for HONEST AND INTEGRAL phone reviews.
"I want my phone to just work" - then buy Apple.
He must not buy any of the smartphones. He must buy 2020 flagship smartphones.
How about same question for iPhones?
XD with iPhones the best is always the latest generation or second latest if you're poor. Old iPhones stop getting supported much faster than an android. You're supposed to have the latest because it's a luxury product, supposed to always feel premium even if that means upgrading every few years. If you're really looking for an old iphone then you need to compare specs yourself since they are actually quite different. Can you really find a new iphone that's the same price and comparable to an older iphone? Nope.
Still undecided... do i go for Huawei P30 Pro or the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro? Anyone, any idea? Ty
Get the better one
I spent 400$ on a brand new Note 9 a few days ago. I'm confident it was a good buy because I'm still rocking a Note 5. That's a 6 year old everyday use phone, folks.
Agree! I used only mid Range phone, but they broke down and were used for maximum of 2 years, my note 9 runs still perfect, good photo camera (video a bit shaky), excellent screen, iris scan (works with face mask and gloves!), might be upgrafing in some years, cuz it still runs and runs and runs...
@Anónimo soy camera quality can just sometimes be shocking especially if you zoom in thats.what i ment, other than that its a wonderful phone
@Venus how do you feel it's outdated? Because of quality or features?
Been using the note 9 for 2 years!! You won't be disappointed only thing a tad outdated is the camera but as long as you wipe it still looks fine
Great comparison! Food for thought!
still rockin my oneplus 6t i picked up for $400 a few years back. still holds up strong
Samsung Galaxy 9 note two years ago and thinking of buying another one now.
I own an S8 that hasn't died yet so I didn't change it. I just bought my lady an s10 the other week and it feels like a significantly lower quality product. What I'm trying to say is that, given the trend, do not expect too much quality and refinement from a 1-2 year old flagship either.
90% of people watching this vid are broke and cant buy a good phone Such us me
LMAO. In my life i only have 2015 - 2016 phone
My 2017 note 8 still going good. Use the Samsung charger too should increase battery life time , waiting for a game changer phone next
Maybe Note 21 Lets how it turns out
I would never buy a mid range... I only use flagships from Samsung 😍
Laugh in 330$ flagship (Mi 9t pro - SD855 - 48mpx - SAmoled) It's more on the top of the mid range ik but this is a jk
